Why was Jesse Ventura’s fight scene with Sylvester Stallone in Demolition Man deleted from the film?

Did this have somthing to do with Ventura’s run for Governor of his state then?

Maybe it just wasn’t that important. Directors and editing staff have to judge what’s important and what’s not.
