Which RC Helicopter Do I Need?
“Which type should I get? Gas or Electric?” It’s a common question among anyone that’s just getting into the radio controlled helicopters hobby. Friends and customers e-mail me every day with this question so here’s the real info behind what you should get.
Electric rc helicopters come in 2 channel, 3 channel, and 4 channel models. They are great for flying indoors but a pain to keep charged! Another problem with this type is they can’t really do any cool tricks!
Gas rc helicopters are much more fun but also have their drawbacks. A gas will be able to do stunning tricks and put on a good show, not to mention being super fun to fly! Gas helicopters can simply be refiled and they will keep on running all day. Gas helicopters will require more maintenance, but the experience is well worth it! It’s almost like being in a real helicopter!
