Yes, why not a police escort or military escort for the convoy? Too late now.
Why not some sort of Blackwater private security? I just do not understand this. All of this could have been prevented or at least not have been so tragic as it was. Just the presence of some armed security would have been some kind of assurance and prevention.

For some reason they were not allowed escorts. There were 3 journalists who backed out because of this. Wise decision.

If you look up the term, rido, concerning politics of Mindanao, usually women, children and elderly people are off-limits. This is why they did not have a security escort. The Ampatuan clan completely broke this long established rule. It is sickening beyond belief.

by the looks of the body around the vehicles, the murdered victims know their assailants , that is why even passerby were not spared. there should have been some firefights, but there was no report of that yet, their positioning and the scattered shells.

they were stopped by atleast a hundred armed men.unless they have a hundred armed men that escort them i dont think it made a difference.it could have been a good gun fight.and some would have probably escaped.this happens a lot during election time in the philippines.but this one came a little too early.its just sad.
