Stop Emotional Eating Dead In It’s Tracks
Emotional eating is something that plagues many women and no more so than these days. With all the tough times and pressure of living during difficult economic times, stress can really pile up and when it does, you need to learn how to control it so you don’t emotionally eat.
One of the first things you need to do is also probably one of the hardest. You need to be accountable. Being accountable is very difficult because is very easy to lie to ourselves. That’s why the best way to be accountable to yourself is also be accountable to somebody else.
The Internet makes this really easy. You can find a group of women that you can trust and meet with them actively with status reports. Use the support for accountability.
Next really work hard to create a schedule. This too can be tough because it will require you to make a plan and a new habit. But if you can go one month following an eating plan then you will pretty much not have eating issues again.
Next, you should develop a safety plan. This will get posted on your refrigerator door and will remind you of alternative things you can do when you go to emotionally eat. For example, you can do things like drink your favorite tea, or force yourself to go for a jog, or go pull our some of your favorite exercises to lose weight and burn some of that energy.
