In Orlando can you use other hotels facilities or only the hotel you are staying in?

Friday, October 23rd, 2009

We are visiting Orlando in June and staying on International drive in one of the cheaper hotels. Is it acceptable to visit other nearby hotels and use their pools, restaurants etc? Or not?
It may seem cheeky but we have asked before on various holidays and they have usually welcomed us.

In general hotels only offer their ‘free’ amenities, such as the pool, to paying guest. You are always welcome to use anything where you will be paying out money, such as restaurants.

The previous poster who said that you can use any Disney pool as a Disney hotel guest is incorrect. I know you are not staying at Disney, but just to clarify, if you are staying at a Disney property you may use any pool at that particular property, however, you are not allowed to move to another Disney hotel and use their pools. The only exception to this rule is the All Star Resorts, where you may use any of the pools at Music, Movie, or Sports.

But then again, I don’t think the lifeguards at the Disney resorts really check to see who is using their pools anyway!

Speaking of Disney resorts,If you plan to patronize other hotel restaurants, I recommend that you visit Beaches and Cream at the Yacht and Beach Club Resort and get the ‘Kitchen Sink’ dessert. Make sure you take a hefty appetite and at least 3 friends with you to enjoy this dessert!

Can I get better hotel deals in Vegas by just showing up at those hotels and not pre-booking?

Saturday, October 17th, 2009

I heard the hotels have a high vacancy rate and that if you just show up and ask for their best deal, it’s better than any pre-booked deals. Is this true?

Never happen. You need to set it in advance.
Best wishes.

How can a massage therapist start getting referrals from hotels?

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

Are there any massage therapists (professional) that do outcall work at hotels? Is there a way to get referred by the concierge or do you just have to advertise and have the hotel guest find you?

You got to get to know and be trusted by the concierge.

Approach all the concierge and offer a free massage to them, either goto their home or have them come to your office if you have one. They cannot recoomend you unless they know you are good.

If you get a booking from a concierge you should cut them in for 10-20 percent of what you made, just tip them on your way out. This will insure more referrals.

You can bypass the concierge by advertising in the book that most hotels put in each room. Also, you can do an ad on the in room TV network.

If a hotel has a spa it may be difficult to do all of the above so focus on hotels that dont have a spa/gym offering massage.

How does the Renaissance brand of hotels compare to the Marriott brand, and to residence inn?

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

I know they are all in the Marriott family of hotels, but I would like to know mostly how Renaissance compares to Marriott.

I work for Marriott, and have stayed at all of the above, I like renaissance the best because they have more expensive items in the room and the rooms are larger than Marriott, you def get your moneys worth. In residence the rooms are the largest, but they just seem to be out dated and they have the kitchen area and free breakfast, but not what im looking for, that’s more of a home away from home thing, that I would stay at if i was remodeling homes or between apts.

Sunday, October 11th, 2009

I’m planning a trip to Manhattan, and I can’t spend too much, so I’m looking for good hotels that are also affordable. Thanks.

Upper west side, go to hotels.com or yahoo and refine your search to this area. but make sure a bathroom comes with a room, a lot of the cheaper hotels are shared b-rooms, yuck!!!! This area is cool cuz u still in manhattan n to get to midtown, its like 10 minutes by subway…a lot to do in this area too but nothing like mid or downtown….

What other hotels are close to the Renaissance Waverly Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia?

Friday, October 9th, 2009

My boyfriend and I are going to an anime convention held at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel this September. The Renaissance Hotel is already full and we are looking for other hotels in the surrounding area. If you could please just provide a list of hotels close to the Renaissance Hotel, I would deeply appreciate it.

Anime Weekend Atlanta, yes? XD I went a few years ago (don’t think I’ll make it this year unless I actually move up there.)

My friend had made the arrangements though and we stayed at a Holiday Inn.

Try looking at the AWA website. Last time I checked, they had a list of nearby hotels (One within walking distance… as is the mall, if you care). If not, I’m sure there’s a website that will list hotels near a certain place. Though if you have a car and good directions, I woudn’t worry too much about it.

How can I find the best and cheapest hotels in Las Vegas?

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

I am planning a trip to Las Vegas. I have already booked a flight but have not found a good hotel. Because my budget is limited, I was wondering if anyone in the Yahoo Community could suggest a website or directory for hotels.

The best way to find hotels cheaply is to use http://www.hotelsitedirectory.com/ because this way you avoid paying third party booking engine fees. Use Hotel Site Directory to find direct hotel information and phone number and website. Call the hotel and book. Trust me best way to save money!
