We want to stay in a hotel right in the middle of the action in Gatlinburg, TN.
We don’t want to have to walk too far. Does anyone have any suggestions?

It’s on the drive from Garmisch. The hotel has a restaurant that is… basically for kids, there is an indoor pool, an area for kids to play in indoors, and a large play area outside. There is also underground parking. The outside looks small and there is another restaurant that has a bar attached that is for adults. Can anyone tell me what hotel this is?

I want to stay at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, TX December 31 – January 3 and am told the hotel is booked. I’ve stayed there last year and know it is a very large hotel and I assume there are some rooms they hold on reserve. For anyone in the know, is there any chance I have at getting one of these rooms?

Sometimes hotels hold rooms in reserve for agents and, I assume, for travel websites, e.g. Travelocity, Expedia, etc. You might try those or a travel agent, e.g. AAA, if you’re a member.

what is the quality criteria for a hotel to determine what "star" grade it is?
e.g. the different between a * hotel, ** hotel, *** hotel ****hotel and ***** hotel……and how come some hotels are diamonds?

we are booking a hotel in france at the moment and they are all really low star rating but really expensive!

The star grading is based on what the company that gives that star rating says a hotel needs to get that level. Generally, the more amenities a hotel offers the more stars. Mobil Guide rates hotels in the US but so do other companies.

The diamonds are AAA’s version of the stars. Their diamonds have a copywrite. So now one else can say diamonds. Stars are generic and any company can rate hotels using stars.

Generally, one star is for budget travellers. Two stars have better accomodations. Three stars would be okay with most people. Four stars would be upscale. Five stars would be considered exquisite and would also require excellent service by hotel staff.

I am in class 10 and I want to study hotel management in the USA. Please tell me what I should do for that. Also, suggest some institutes or universities where I can study it.

You want to major in Hospitality!
I’ll give you a crash couse in hotel management, my parents own a resort and I grew up in the business, so if you can achieve these goals, you will have a successful hotel.

1. LOCATION!!! Have a hotel in a desirable location

2. Uniqueness!! a large pool, flat screen tvs, etc.. have something your hotel offers that your competitors don’t have.. you want your guests saying "I’m going to stay at the ____ hotel because they offer this and the other one doesn’t"

3. Customer is king! No matter what the situation is, always please the customer because the #1 thing that will kill a business is a bad reputation. Do WHATEVER IT TAKES to maintain a reputable reputation.

4. Have a properly trained, friendly staff. Nothing gets guests to return back to a hotel more than friendly staff.

5. Have good software for processing reservations and credit cards, the fewer mistakes the better, and you’ll save a lot of payroll hours in the long run.

Achieve these 5 goals and you won’t have to go to college.

any college that offers a hospitality major in the united states is just as good as the next school, all you’ll be doing is learning what I wrote above in extreme detail

I recently booked a trip to New York to visit family for New Years. I included a hotel stay in my package. I am now planning on staying with a family friend therefore no longer need the hotel reservation. I looked at the site I booked with and the only way to do so is if you cancel the whole package which I don’t want to do. Also, it says the hotel reservation is nonrefundable.

If you booked through almost any travel website except the hotels website you are out of luck. Expedia, Priceline, orbit, etc. all of the travel websites are like a travel agent. You pay them, they pay the hotel. You could try to call them but I’m sure they will tell you no based on the fact it is non-refundable. When you book through any of these companies you will get a standard room type which means anything that is leftover. No preference on smoking or non or how many beds. Always try to stay away from these methods of booking rooms because you may get a better rate but you might not get what you expected.

Okay, so, I’m going to stay in an apartment Hotel.. And since it has the word ‘hotel’ in it, does it mean it’s exactly like an hotel? Or something? Thanks if you answered.
And, no, I’m not going to Greece, I’m going to Bangkok living in this Apartment Hotel called Citadines.

You`re going to Greece aren`t you….An Hotel is a big building with rooms and a restaurant where you have Breakfast, lunch and Dinner, and room service and a mini bar in the room and towels changed daily, etc and its expensive, or lets say, not cheap…

An Apartmenthotel is a big building with rooms a reception area that doubles as a breakfast room for those on "half board", towels get changed every three or four days and you are "self catering" so its cheaper or lets say less expensive (though when you take in the food you have to buy, or eat out every night..it can be more expensive than staying in an hotel where it`s "all found")

My friends and I want to be as close as possible to the action so which hotel would be the closest?

Me and my friends want to go to Fort Lauderdale, Florida for spring break, but don’t know what hotel to go to. We really like to party so we want a hotel that will have fun high school and college age people to party with.

I don’t think Ft. Lauderdale really welcomes under-age Spring Break crowd. Most hotels have a minimum age of 18 or 21, but it may be higher during Spring Break time, in order to avoid just the thing you’re proposing.

Please tell me, im staying at the Hilton hotel and i read that is likey that they’d stay there but it’s 5 miniuts away from the wembly areana so i dont know.
Does anyone know?
