You unhook the battery for 2 mins, but I would get the codes scanned 1st to see what is the issue, most parts stores will do a free scan, You may have a O2 unplugged if they removed the rad.

Premium gas has higher octane levels. Octane is basically a "power" level, but more is not necessarily better.

Too low octane, and your engine might "knock" (kind of a shudder"). Most run just fine on regular. If an engine requires a higher octane, you use the higher fuel. But if it doesn’t require it, it’s sort of a waste, because your engine can’t take advantage of it.

Two Lines from Master cylinder to A.B.S. (If equipped) then to proportioning valve. Then two to front wheels and two to rear wheels. Then attached to the ends of the four lines at the wheels are brake hoses. 1 per wheel.

I am developing a race buggy and use the ford escort driveshafts i want to make my own rear hubs (lighter ,better material etc) but i need the exact dimensions of the spline any help would be appreciated

If you already have the axles, as you seem to have indicated, then the best way would be to take a micrometer and mic the splines to get the measurements. Or if you have the hub assemblies, then you could also mic them to get your dimensions. You are going to have to have one or the other if you are making your own hubs to check for fit if you are going to do it right, so having the axles would be the best way to go about it.

I want to take the luggage rack off my 93 Ford Escort Wagon. Someone said I need to remove the roof headling to get at the bolts. How do I remove the roof headling?

To remove the rack you first have to remove all the inside door trim on every door, including the rear hatch. This will loosen the edges of the headliner near the doors. The A pillar and B pillar inside trim will also have to be removed. The sun visors will have to be removed along with the upper windshield trim. Once the headliner is out of the way you will see the nuts holding the rack in place. Be cautious with the long pieces that run from front to back. They are also attached with a very stiff glue and will snap in two very easily. Best to get one end started then run a stiff wire, like a guitar string under the piece to cut the glue loose. Clean out all the old glue before reinstalling the rack. Do not try to reuse it. Get all new adhesive.
