Can Social Media Be A Source of MLM Leads?

Once upon a time there was a world without the Internet, and back then it was tough for fledgling MLM (Multi Level Marketing) or Network Marketing owners to generate the best MLM leads. Even today, most new MLM owners start with their family, friends, and co-workers as an initial source of essentially free network marketing leads.

But what about the potential home based MLM business owner who doesn’t have a lot of social contacts? Should they just abandon MLM opportunities and look for other home based businesses to get into? Are there other lead generation opportunities available to them? Enter the Internet.

On the net you’ll find companies that sell leads. But paid leads are not necessarily the best MLM leads you can find and they can be expensive; so they’re not cheap MLM leads either. These leads are sold many times over, resulting in “stale” lists of people who may have already been contacted. MLM owners buy paid leads because they’re available and they may see no other options.

The current explosion in Social Media, which almost everyone today has at least heard of, gives you a new avenue for generating free network marketing leads. If you doubt that, consider the number of businesses, both large and small, who are trying to get in on the act. Some have done well, but many have not. To make it in the world of Social Media it helps to understand a little about where it came from and where it is right now.

Starting on college campuses, where students and former students had a real need to stay in touch, Social Media is now attracting people of all types. What’s shared by all of them is the desire to participate in a genuine conversation with people with similar interests.

While truly a real source, you can’t hop on the Social Media wagon with a simple “Hi, my name is Jack or Jill, and I can’t wait to show you what I found!” First, you’re not yet an accepted member of the community and second, Social Media enthusiasts know when someone is attempting to exploit them for personal gain.

If you have the time and the patience you can do it right. Join a community where you have a real interest and a willingness to get in on the conversation. Social Media types love personal stuff, so don’t be afraid to share yourself. Over time you can go beyond your personal life and talk about your personal experiences with your MLM business. What scared you, what attracted you, what’s worked, and what hasn’t. Give it time and someone in the community will surely begin to ask you about the business. Even Social Media enthusiasts need to make money!MLM Leads
