Is my outstanding moving violation in Mass going to pop up when I renew my license in NH?

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

It was a $50 moving violation for driving over train tracks. However, it’s been a year and three months and I’ve never received anything in the mail regarding the delinquent ticket. I’m thinking it may be possible that they didn’t put it on record, but even if they did, will it pop up at the DMV in NH?

It’s a 50 / 50 proposition.

What is the Hungarian name for Amyotrphic lateral sclerosis?

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

I am looking for a hungarian web site that explains what ALS is. Can you either send me a link to a hungarian site or where I can find the hungarian name of my disease?

Apparently it is ‘amiotrófiás laterálszklerózis’ – do a google search on it, gives 16000 hits

Sometimes it is also named ‘Gehrig-kór’, from Lou Gehrig who had this disease

If its a simple BJ just hand over the cash or more cash if its an all-nighter..

How can I reserve a hotel room at a hotel that is booked?

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

I want to stay at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, TX December 31 – January 3 and am told the hotel is booked. I’ve stayed there last year and know it is a very large hotel and I assume there are some rooms they hold on reserve. For anyone in the know, is there any chance I have at getting one of these rooms?

Sometimes hotels hold rooms in reserve for agents and, I assume, for travel websites, e.g. Travelocity, Expedia, etc. You might try those or a travel agent, e.g. AAA, if you’re a member.

My best friend and I are planning a trip to DC while we’re both home on Christmas break. We are both only 18, but we were considering staying down there for a night so we can get more sightseeing in. Does anyone know of any hotels that are clean, not too expensive, and allow 18 year olds to check in? Thanks in advance!

Why was Jesse Ventura’s fight scene with Sylvester Stallone in Demolition Man deleted from the film?

Friday, December 25th, 2009

Did this have somthing to do with Ventura’s run for Governor of his state then?

Maybe it just wasn’t that important. Directors and editing staff have to judge what’s important and what’s not.

How do hotels keep shower water temperatures stable?

Friday, December 25th, 2009

I’ve recently been to a few hotels while traveling and started to wonder how they keep their showers from fluctuating in temperature and pressure. At home, if anybody turns on or off faucets around the house, the showers at my house would change in temperature and pressure. How do hotels manage to prevent the effect of others taking showers or using other water appliances from affecting my own room? Are there any solutions in hardware stores for the home owner?

hotels use a pump to increase and maintain water pressure, once the building pressure falls below a certain point the pump comes on and pressurizes a tank, and by pressurizing the tank, the pump can shut off for periods of time until the tank pressure falls to a certain point then the pump comes on and builds pressure once again. and in high usage scenarios, the pump will stay on. and this will also aid in constant temp, because in your home, if you are taking a shower and someone turns on the hot water, you will notice a temp change because the pressure in you house isnt able to sustain 2 or more appliances without creating a large drop in pressure in the pipes.

How does the hotel grading system work?

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

what is the quality criteria for a hotel to determine what "star" grade it is?
e.g. the different between a * hotel, ** hotel, *** hotel ****hotel and ***** hotel……and how come some hotels are diamonds?

please answer!

thanks!
we are booking a hotel in france at the moment and they are all really low star rating but really expensive!

The star grading is based on what the company that gives that star rating says a hotel needs to get that level. Generally, the more amenities a hotel offers the more stars. Mobil Guide rates hotels in the US but so do other companies.

The diamonds are AAA’s version of the stars. Their diamonds have a copywrite. So now one else can say diamonds. Stars are generic and any company can rate hotels using stars.

Generally, one star is for budget travellers. Two stars have better accomodations. Three stars would be okay with most people. Four stars would be upscale. Five stars would be considered exquisite and would also require excellent service by hotel staff.
