What hotel would be good for 11 year old girls birthday party?

Friday, September 25th, 2009

My neice is having her 11th birthday, I am helping her plan it. She has 5 days to plan it. We need a hotel that is farely cheap and that has a pool and that is nice. We also need different games that 11 year old girls will like, if you could give us some tips on goodie bags that would be great. Her birthday is on the 19 if you could please help us by then that would be helpful. We live in Indiana, Indianapolis, so the hotel has to be around there. Thanks

The Marriot Hotel. That hotel gives you points which makes your price next time you stay in a hotel cheaper. They always have a pool indoor and outdoor (i believe) For the goody bags, maybe a pencil and a buncha candy! :D

Hope I helped! :D Good Luck!

does anyone know any good Hungarian recipes?

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

I’m Hungarian and would like to know something I could make that would be nice and authentic.

Here are two recipes for authentic Hungarian Goulash

* 2 lb. beef chuck
* 1 tsp. salt
* 2 onions, white or yellow
* 2 Tbsp. lard or shortening
* 2 Tbsp. imported sweet paprika (most important to use real hungarian paprika for ultimate flavor)
* 2 bay leaves
* 1 Qt. water
* 4 peeled and diced potatoes
* 1/4 tsp. black pepper

Cut beef into 1 inch squares, add 1/2 tsp. salt. Chop onions and brown in shortening, add beef and paprika. Let beef simmer in its own juice along with salt and paprika for 1 hr. on low heat. Add water, diced potatoes and remaining salt. Cover and simmer until potatoes are done and meat is tender. Prepare egg dumpling batter:

* 1 egg
* 6 Tbsp. flour
* 1/8 tsp. salt

Add flour to unbeaten egg and salt. Mix well. Let stand for 1/2 hour for flour to mellow. Drop by teaspoonful into Goulash. Cover and simmer 5 minutes after dumplings rise to surface.

Serve hot with dollops of sour cream.

Serves 6.

—-

* 2 pounds (1 kilogram) beef (chuck or other stew beef)
* 6 Tablespoons (100 grams) lard (or other cooking fat)
* 2 to 3 medium onions (300 grams)
* 2 cloves garlic, crushed
* 1 Tablespoon caraway
* 2 Tablespoons hot Hungarian paprika (or you can mix with sweet Hungarian paprika, to your taste)
* salt to taste
* 10 cups (2.5 litres) beef stock
* 4 medium new potatoes (770 grams of the Hungarian Rózsaburgonya, or "pink potato")–peeled and cut into ½-inch square (1 cm. square) cubes
* 2 banana peppers, chopped (these are also called "Hungarian wax"–use the sweet blunt ones or the pointed piquant ones, as you wish)
* 2 medium tomatoes, peeled and chopped (or 1 15-ounce can of tomatoes, seeded and chopped)
* a bunch of celery leaves, tied in a bundle with string

Garnish: homemade pasta bits (made from 1 egg and about ¾ cup–or 10 decagrams–flour) and finely chopped green onions

Prepare the meat by cutting away all fat and cubing it into small pieces–about ½-inch square (1 cm. square). Set aside.

Chop the onion finely and saute in hot lard in a Dutch oven until golden brown. Stir in the crushed garlic. Sprinkle with caraway and stir in.

Remove the pot from the heat and let cool down. Sprinkle on all the Hungarian paprika and stir in well–then mix in the meat cubes and salt. Return the pot to a medium heat and let roast, mixing from time to time and adding stock, if needed, to keep it from drying out. When nicely roasted, moisten again, cover, and let stew.

When the meat is soft, add the potato cubes, the chopped peppers, chopped tomatoes, and the remaining stock (add water to make a total of about 12 cups (3 litres) of soup)–then plunge in the bundle of celery leaves. Bring soup to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until the vegetables and meat are tender.

Prepare the pasta by kneading the flour into the beaten egg. This is especially easy in a food processor. The dough will be stiff. Cover with plastic and let rest for at least an hour. Knead again briefly, then roll into a pencil shape and cut into pea-size pieces. Sprinkle with a little flour to keep from sticking.

When 10 minutes away from serving, bring the soup to a boil. Add the pasta pieces, reduce heat, cover partially, and leave alone for about 5 minutes or so. Mix carefully. Remove celery bundle. Then ladle into bowls and top with finely chopped green onions.

Why do you think Whoopi Goldberg lied about getting police escort to her Amtrak ride?

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

If Rush Limbaugh got police escort to the airport, what would liberals be saying about it?

OMG! Is this the best defense you have for "messiah" Limbaugh! Geez LMAO! Barbara was with her too. Why didn’t you speak about her in your Rant?! Your Glenn Beck LIED. Get over it.

is Singlesnet.com liget?

I’m just wondering before I spend any money with them.

Most dating sites are a waste of both time and money. Only a fraction of people are really looking for someone to have a relationship with while others are just looking for a good time.

It’s really not worth potentially dating an internet lie. As in a person who’s completely dishonest on their profile, but will go out with you anyway to have something to do. People are more real in the ‘real’ world.

What does it mean when you dream of hotels?

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

My daughter keeps dreaming of going to different hotels, does this mean anything? She is only 11 and we’ve been to two different hotels her whole life.

To dream of hotels is a dream of a shift in personal identity. When we dream of our house/home, that is a dream of who we are on the inside….a hotel is who we are or can become. Totally normal especially at her age.

What hotel in the Dominican Republic is walking distance from a town and not too far from an airport?

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

I am not too interested in staying in an all-inclusive hotel, I would rather be able to stay in an affordable, nice hotel but still be able to experience the culture and people. Any help is appreciated. Also, is there any advantage to using a travel agency? I would much rather do it myself but I am just worried about legit transportation to and from the hotel and to neighboring towns.

I would check out www.naturacabana.com
This is a nice Inn, that will give you some great luxuries, but still allow you’re vacation to be simple, and you’ll be able to experience culture. It’s located right in between the towns of Sosua and Cabarete (about 8 minutes to each), and it’s about 15 minutes from the airport in Puerto Plata.
I personally like Cabarete, I live in the area, and it’s really laid back. I think Sosua attracts more older people, and men. Although their beach is nice.
That’s why I reccomend this hotel, it’s close to both towns so you’ll be able to explore a bit more, it offers a great beach, and they are also able to plan excursions for you.

Lives in NH work in MA, was self employed for 3 months, do I still put that income in for MA state return?

Monday, September 21st, 2009

I made $22000 in self employment, my office was located at home in NH. Do I still report that income on my MA tax return? I’m doing my taxes online with turbotax and it automatically enter the income in my MA, is ok if I delete it?

You most likely need to do an apportionment schedule of some sort for MA since you are a non-resident. For individuals, the formula is usually something like – how much did you make in our state vs. how much did you make everywhere. Many states compute your tax as if 100% of your income was from their state and then multiplies by the ratio above. This is their way of getting your income into a higher tax bracket.

So, if TurboTax is indeed sourcing the self-employment income to MA, you need to change that. I am not sure if you can just delete it since it may delete it from your Federal and NH returns. Any tax software that allows for multiple state filings requires you to indicate where the income should be sourced. This may just be a case where it was accidently coded as MA. Check that to be sure. If it is already correctly sourced to NH, you may need to call TurboTax support to find the work around.
