Living and working IN NH but for a MA company?

Friday, July 31st, 2009

I live in NH and will be working on a contract for a couple months in NH as well. I will technically be employed by a contract firm in MA. Will I still have to pay Ma income tax?

It does not matter that your employer happens to have its headquarters in MA. Since you neither live nor work in MA, there should be no MA tax withheld or paid. Since there is no state income tax in NH, you should only pay federal income tax and Social Security/Medicare.

How much can I expect to pay for a jaywalking ticket in Ventura?

Friday, July 31st, 2009

Yesterday I got a jaywalking ticket. I was cooperative with the Officer and don’t really have any reason to go to court with it. I couldn’t get an answer off the Ventura Superior Courts website unless I looked in the wrong place. The violation code is 21461.5

According to the California Superior Court Uniform Bail Schedule, the minimum bail amount for these violations is $35.00 plus any penalty assessments imposed by your County.
Figure on about 70-80 bucks.
